Christine Rendel, born and raised on the northwest coast of England, has had a rich and diverse life! This accomplished British-American voice actor has lived all over the world and is proud to call New York ‘home’ for over 3 decades.
Christine's journey includes:
Radio presenter and content creator: International - UAE Abu Dhabi FM and AM, Capitol Radio, KPFA Berkeley CA
Writer and Poet: memoir, short story, poetry, and current novel. Was a stringer for many newspapers/journals including IHT, MEED, Gulf News
TV/Theatre: actor over 40 years - regional, off-broadway international stage, musical theater, & film and tv
Learned to: windsurf, sail, build a house - and play the drums in the Fire Department parades
Studied: drama, singing, commercial voiceover, voice acting, audiobook narration and audiobook directing
Trained as: Volunteer Firefighter, EMT, Registered Nurse, Midwife, Psychiatric Nurse. Ph.D in Health and Human Services
When she's not recording at her home studio in rural NY, this avid gardener finds joy walking the local woods and beaches of Long Island Sound, writing music and stories, playing piano. She's engaged in a life-long renovation of an old home where she lives with her family, their dogs and their many Koi fish.
With almost 100 audiobooks recorded, Christine offers ‘Lively, Gracious and Positive(ly) British’ narration of fiction and non-fiction. She brings 'a beautiful kaleidoscope of accents - exotic and wonderful', allowing a listener to be 'completely transported into the story' and into the author’s world. Winner of 2020 SOVAS Society for Voice Arts and Sciences Award for Classics Narration and nominated 2 successive years.
